The Coworking Exchange

The idea

AngkorHUB was a community in Siem Reap formed by locals and internationals driven to make a positive social impact. The Coworking Exchange was simple: organize a workshop or talk at AngkorHUB, and get free access to the coworking space in return.

It was a way to turn the constant flow of talented digital nomads passing through Siem Reap into something lasting — knowledge shared with the local community and fellow coworkers.

How it worked

Anyone staying at or visiting AngkorHUB could propose a session — a workshop, a talk, a hands-on tutorial. Topics ranged from marketing and design to programming, business strategy, and social entrepreneurship.

Our staff helped with planning, promotion, and logistics. In exchange, speakers received free coworking access for an agreed period, plus exposure to the entire AngkorHUB network — online and offline.

Why it mattered

Digital nomads brought global expertise. Local professionals and students brought curiosity and context. The exchange created real connections between people who would never have crossed paths otherwise.

Hundreds of sessions took place over the years, covering everything from SEO and Facebook advertising to meditation, photography, and startup pitching. Combined with our HUBtalks lecture series and the AngkorHUB Academy, the Coworking Exchange was part of a broader effort to bridge Cambodia’s skills gap through exposure and mentorship.

What people said

“AngkorHub is a great place for knowledge sharing & bouncing off ideas. We did 3 workshops on marketing & design and had people from all sorts of backgrounds joining us. From online teachers to non-profits and entrepreneurs, they were all there. AngkorHub also does a great job of promoting these workshops in Siem Reap to get the most of the sessions.”

The legacy

The Coworking Exchange ran throughout AngkorHUB’s active years (2014–2020). The physical program ended with the space, but the principle lives on — knowledge shared freely, community built through contribution. See what we’re doing now on our projects page.
