In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic reached Cambodia and we made the decision to pause our coworking and coliving services at AngkorHUB.
At the time, it was the responsible thing to do. We were not willing to create a gathering space where the virus could spread among short-stay international travellers. We had been taking precautions — alcohol sanitizers for coworkers, thorough daily cleaning of work surfaces and door handles — but ultimately, the right call was to hit pause.
What we learned
The pandemic forced us to rethink how we work and how we serve our community. We stayed connected with our virtual community throughout and extended help to remote workers navigating the challenges of that period.
What came next
Rather than seeing this as the end, we evolved. AngkorHUB’s mission of bridging the skills gap and supporting Cambodia’s digital economy continued through new projects and platforms.
